What is Lasik eye surgery?

Answer : A common refractive surgery method called LASIK (Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) reshapes the cornea of the eye using a laser to treat nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. During the surgery, the surgeon uses a microkeratome or femtosecond laser to cut a flap in the cornea. The cornea is then reshaped using an excimer laser after the flap is raised. The cornea heals naturally without the need for stitches when the flap is repositioned. Most individuals see better right away after having LASIK surgery, which is generally regarded as safe and successful.

Not everyone is a suitable candidate for LASIK, so it’s crucial to talk to an eye doctor about your unique situation to see if LASIK or another vision correction surgery is best for you.
