What is the danger of protactinium?

Answer : Due to its high amount of radioactivity, the element prototactinium can be hazardous to human health. It releases alpha particles that can harm and kill body cells, causing radiation sickness and a higher chance of developing cancer. Protactinium also has a long half-life, which increases the danger of long-term exposure by making it radioactive for a very long time. Protactinium must therefore be handled and exposed with the utmost care and safety precautions.
